BLACKBUSH DISTILLERY

The Bushmills distillery, in the little town of the same name was licensed by King James I in 1608. It is the world's oldest licensed malt distillery though its single was launched only in the mid 1980s. There are three labels - "Bushmills Malt", a de luxe blend partner "Black Bush" and a regular "Old Bushmills". They are all triple distilled.

Situated just a mile from the spectacular Giant's Causeway, the distillery lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty and rich in history and folklore. 

Generally, Scotch whiskies are distilled only twice. Bushmills Irish Whiskeys, however, are triple distilled. Because each stage of distillation increases the purity and smoothness of the whiskey, Bushmills Irish Whiskey is particularly pure and smooth.

At Bushmills the art of making whiskey lies not in the blending, but in the distilling and in the careful maturation which takes place in sherry and American oak casks and in port wine pipes.
